Other than Norton Internet Security 2008 software, what other program is there 2 stop severe pop up

I have a 5 year old HP Pavilion a630n desktop and I just recently got internet acess on this computer. I was using fine for about 3 months and now all of a sudden I get a whole slew of pop-ups that I don't want to see or deal with. I got Norton Internet Security 2008 software package %26 still I get spyware %26 very adult oriented pop ups. I tried going through the Tools=%26gt; Internet Options=%26gt;Security Tab option to clean up %26 permanently REMOVE each pop up that my poor old computer gets inundated with.

I don't use this computer to surf the adult oriented websites I blocked those features b4 I received any internet acess so I wouldn't encounter problems like this. I'm not sure what kind of software to buy pop up or spyware oriented b/c I'm not sure which one is going to eliminate this problem ALL TOGETHER. Each time I go into youtube to try and watch a video the link I click on gives me this you have a cookie/virus/pop up file that is infected, even though NAV program just repaired the prb

If you use the Firefox webbrowser you won't get as many popups and it's resistant to all that garbage that regularly infects Internet explorer. When you use firefox it's much better them msie. SO go to Mozilla.com or firefox.com and download firefox. you will like it much better.
